Haven’t done a proper full Figure Review for a while, so here goes one for Nendoroid Nankyoku Sakura from GoodSmile Company ^_^

Sakura is from the Anime Series Penguin Musume Heart. I really didn’t think much of this series at first, it was more a download because I was bored and had nothing else to do at the time. I’m glad I did though, it was a gem ^_^. I love comedies that are just so stupid, it’s funny ^_^;;. I’ll go over the first few minutes of the opener to give you an idea of what kind of anime this is… Read the rest of this entry »

Best Friends with Benefits?
I think I’m skimming the borders of ecchi and hentai on this one, what do you think?
On another note, I’ve created a new Directory Page for my 4Komas, which should make it easier to navigate through them all.
Oh, almost forgot to keep with tradition. Click the More for bonus pic (Warning NSFW – that is if this whole post is NSFW anyway): Read the rest of this entry »

Good news for fans of Nanofate, I decided to turn this series into a proper chronological 4koma series. It will still be silly, ecchi, stupid and just plain wrong, but it will actually have a story – well as 4komas go. Also now that I have more props to play with, it should be a lot better.
Anyhow, the premise of the story is that Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A’s never happened. This is an alternate universe where Nanoha and Fate grew up together after “befriending” each other in the first season. Because of that, Nanoha … developed differently than she otherwise would have. You’ll see what I mean.
One thing: I’m now no longer regretting getting 2 Figma Ryomous. In fact it’s bloody awesome. Click the More to see what I mean Read the rest of this entry »

Didn’t realise but as of today, my Blog is 1 Year Old. Wow, time goes fast. In celebration, I’ll review a figure / toy I got this week of one of my favourite shows of all time whilst I was in my teens, Teknoman (as it was called here in Australia anyway). Be warned, when you click “More” there’s almost a hundred images in this post ^_^;;

Welcome back to another Ace Review ^_^;; Yes, it’s been some time! Anyway today we’ll be looking at probably one of the most favourite female anime char’s since Kanu Uncho – the kawaii Yoko, in Nendoroid form, by Goodsmile Company…

When Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann first came out (I think in 2006?) I really didn’t think it was my style of anime, at least in the beginning. How wrong I was! This series is now probably up there as one of my all time favourite animes. If you haven’t seen it yet, maybe because you think mecha animes aren’t really your thing, you’re really missing out. I guarantee it. But since you’re here looking at this review, I’m going to assume you’re already a Gurren Lagann fan, so I won’t bother selling the series to you, the reader, anymore. Yep, still watching this show from last season. Have to say, this is getting to be one of my all time favourite animes now, as it’s just so easy to watch and feel emotion, and you feel that the characters are so realistic, despite some of the more absurd moments in the show. I may start blogging more about shows that I’m watching, as my content can’t be all about figures and writing can it? Yeah, I’m procastinating on the writing ^_^;;
Anyway, it looks like episode 17 may be the start of the more emo and meaty parts of the series. Finally we are getting to drama with the main characters, and now it’s the whole Minorin x Ryuji x Taiga business. I won’t put Ami-chan in the triangle, as it looks like Toradora is using her more of a supporting character for now, much as I like her. Last arc was about Kitamura being emo, now it’s Minorin’s turn. I KNEW this was going to happen. You can’t be a class clown forever.

Minorin is really thinking about what Ami-chan said last episode. After she saw the picture in Taiga’s wallet with her and Kitamura, it seems like Ami was taunting her, that she doesn’t have to feel guilty (about liking Ryuji) because Taiga really likes someone else. But is that really the case? It’s never flat out stated anywhere that Minorin likes Ryuji, but the fact you can just tell from their body language, and actions, just shows the attention to detail that the author / animators went to to make the characters as real as they could. Well, this Winter (or Summer over here in Aussie land) Season has gone long enough now, that I’ve got a fairly clear list of shows that I’ll be watching. Figures and Fanfiction is great and all, but without good source material to become a fan of, or write about, the world of Figures and Fanfiction (Anime) would be quite dull indeed ^_^;;

My strategy is thus – watch absolutely everything for a couple of episodes, and then choose to stick with the ones that interested me the most. What’s your strategy?
Anyway, it doesn’t look as strong as last season, but there are still a few new shows that I’m really liking so far. We’ll see… below is my list ranked in order of how much I’m liking them so far. Read the rest of this entry »
